We want to thank Triple X Fraternity, Los Angeles Chapter, for their commitment to our mission and cause. They will be awarded as Organization of the Year at our Match for Life 16th Annual Gala on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at the Glendale Hilton.
The Triple X Fraternity was established in 1918 as a non-religious, nonpolitical organization by a group of young Armenian students at Fresno High School. Tired of being repeatedly restricted from participating in various school clubs simply because they were Armenians, the group organized its own fraternity and called it XXX, after the Roman numerals for 30.
Soon the fraternity expanded into several chapters in California and Nevada. The Los Angeles Chapter was founded in 1928.
Though no longer a school club, the Triple X Fraternity, also known as the Trex Fraternity, continues to foster camaraderie, collaboration, mutual support, and dedication to great social and cultural causes.
Over its nearly 100 years of existence, Trex has generously donated to worthwhile charities, and, for the past five years, the Los Angeles Chapter has supported ABMDR through the proceeds of its annual Armenian Open Golf Tournament.
