I would like to invite you to sponsor the 13th annual New England Walk of Life for the Armenian Bone Marrow Donor Registry (ABMDR) that will be taking place on Saturday, September 21, 2024, in Watertown, MA.
Part of the global network of bone marrow donor registries, ABMDR’s mission is to help Armenian and non-Armenian patients suffering from leukemia and other life-threatening blood related illnesses find matched, unrelated donors for bone marrow stem cell transplantation. To this end, ABMDR is active in Armenia, US, the Middle East, the EU, and other regions with sizable Armenian communities and runs a state-of-the-art laboratory and a bone marrow stem cell harvesting center in Yerevan, Armenia.
Despite the many challenges facing us in the homeland, we have continued our global operation by conducting donor-search requests and tissue-typing for our patients across the world and providing much needed support. Since the beginning of our efforts, we have provided 42 successful stem cell transplants.
The walkathon enjoys the support and cooperation of the Armenian organizations, churches, and many local businesses. All the proceeds from the event are invested in recruiting new stem cell donor volunteers for the registry.
